₩ ・ Naengmyeon
Pyeongyang Myeonok, now in its third generation in Jangchung-dong, is one of Seoul’s most iconic long-standing restaurants, known for the long queues that form at its entrance during the sweltering summer months. Its signature naengmyeon broth is exceptionally clear and transparent, characterized by a subtle beef aroma and a clean, mild flavor that avoids any sharp or overpowering notes. The buckwheat noodles offer a rich, nutty aroma, while the hand-folded dumplings, filled generously and free of kimchi, deliver a delicate and refined taste. Another favorite is the jeyuk—thinly sliced, warm boiled pork—that’s served tender and savory. Please note that starting January 2025, the restaurant will be closed every Monday.
