It was within the walls of this handsome mansion that Charles Gounod played the first bars of his opera, Mireille, to the Provençal author Frédéric Mistral, who wrote the libretto. In a flavoursome echo, the chef plays a gourmet melody which delves into the regional pantry (fish from Grau-du-Roi, pork from Mont Ventoux and lamb from Crau), to deftly craft legible dishes that ooze with hunger-obliterating appeal. Fine wine list, particularly from the Alpilles and the Rhône Valley. The rooftop terrace is heavenly!
