MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking

Organic is the watchword here, from the sustainably sourced produce used in the kitchen to the furnishings chosen for the restaurant and hotel of the same name – the latter were crafted by local artisans from untreated natural materials. Many of the ingredients are grown in the on-site garden; fermented and pickled foods are also used. The menu tempts diners with options such as medium-rare flank steak of Schönenbach venison with creamy sweet potato. The plant-based options, such as the hand-made gnocchi with colewort and Vetterhof beetroot, are well worth trying. Fans of organic or natural wines will find an impressive selection here.

Gastronomy & Sustainability

MICHELIN Green Star

"Our entire hotel is certified organic; we have renovated the building sustainably, we heat with geothermal energy, and over 90% of our ingredients are sourced from the local area. We also maintain a "WildeWeiberGarten", where we grow our own vegetables, lettuces and herbs. We have been working very closely with the organic producer Vetternhof in Lustenau for many years."
