MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking

Here, the cooking has been taken back to basics, with the focus placed squarely on the first-rate regional produce. The cuisine of Felix Messner – who runs the restaurant together with his brother Florian – is inspired by Austria and Vorarlberg. The simplicity of the fresh, flavourful dishes (eg breaded fried chicken, potato salad, pumpkin seed oil) is in keeping with the decor in this timber building on the village square, which was erected in 1756 and renovated according to historical models. Warm wood panelling from floor to ceiling makes for a cosy interior. There are also smart guest rooms in a modern regional style.
