Cornelia Fischer, who heads the kitchen at the fine dining restaurant of the splendid Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, is by no means a newcomer to the culinary scene. After serving as chef de partie here years ago, and following her recent role as head chef in the kitchens of Zur Schwane in Volkach, she now creates contemporary interpretations of classical cuisine. Each of the two tasting menus, one of which is vegetarian, comprises four to six courses and is made from excellent ingredients – standout dishes include an elegant Norway lobster tartare and perfectly aged saddle of lamb en papillote. The sleek and stylish interior design is especially inviting, and the service is delightfully laid back and adept.
