MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

On the outskirts of Weyer, this farmstead, the presence of which was first documented in 1130, lies at the start of the Habach Valley. It has been owned by the Meilinger family since 1832, and today the hotel and restaurant are in the capable hands of siblings Elisabeth and Franz Meilinger Jr. The chef and his team cook up traditional regional cuisine with seasonal influences, served either à la carte or as a tasting menu, and accompanied by an all-Austrian wine list. A five- or seven-course surprise menu is available Fri-Mon by pre-booking (one day in advance). The cosy space with a beautiful vaulted ceiling has a rustic feel; the terrace commands a view of the Hohe Tauern mountains.
