Partners Stefan Doubek and Nora Pein offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience, which begins with an uncommonly courtly welcome from the doorman. And things get more interesting: in the open kitchen, food is cooked using four fire sources, including a wood-fired oven and a barbecue. Absolute precision and attention to detail goes into harnessing the flames to prepare fish and seafood, as well as dry-aged duck cooked whole. The result is a set menu that is brimming over with personality and sophisticated combinations of premium ingredients – subtle Japanese accents are also harmoniously integrated. The meal concludes with a delightful sweet finale featuring an array of little treats, elegantly presented at your table. If you prefer to be surprised, do not break the wax seal of the menu you are given. One thing is for sure: the 16 or so intriguing courses delivered to your table will make your time here fly by. In some cases, the chefs themselves come out to talk you through their dishes, which are served on hand-made crockery. Your charming, friendly and competent hostess presides over the minimalist, stylish dining area, bringing a tangible sense of enthusiasm to her recommendations for wine pairings.
