At last, Danforth Avenue scores big with an ambitious restaurant that sets a new standard for the neighborhood. Just across from the favored music hall, enjoy a generous, leisurely tasting menu that plays with Mediterranean flavors and rolls with the seasons. Start to finish, Chef Adam Ryan has a fine hand with presentation. From the striking tomato tart with rose harissa to a very soigné wagyu beef with wild ginger and morels, ingredients are often locally foraged and always arranged with style. The space itself is one of ease, featuring a busy bar anchoring the center, warm honeyed lighting, and a comfy tufted banquette. Esoteric wines and cocktails, like the gin-based Olive Branch, tell their own thoughtful stories and should be explored liberally.
