This collaboration between Chef Matty Matherson and his mentor Rang Nguyen has established itself as a firm favorite on Spadina for lovers of Vietnamese food. One bite of the banh mi with succulent roasted pork and you’ll be transported back to Ho Chi Minh City on that backpacker’s trip you once took. The bowls of pho will warm the bones and gladden the heart – the sliced rare beef is well worth ordering – and the chicken wings are cooked to order in a kitchen that appears to be almost the same size as the dining area. The prices are fair, the service helpful and efficient and the room has a colorful, bright, laid-back vibe. For a quick refuel or a bite with friends, this little place might just hit the spot.
